Thank you for your interest in the Maspik! Grant Program.

Funding from Maspik! supports:

  • New and innovative initiatives that contribute to the fight against antisemitism in ways best suited to an organization’s expertise.
  • Initiatives that focus on Israel and educate Canadians about Israel / Zionism and combating anti-Zionist activity that is a cover for antisemitism. (This relates to current funding from the Wendy Eisen and Carole Zucker JNF Fund.)
  • Initiatives that train, educate, and build capacity to increase engagement and activism among grassroots.
  • Constructive, educational initiatives that address Canadian ignorance about antisemitism.
  • Initiatives that leverage and impact large numbers of Canadians and bring into the fold new Jewish or non-Jewish advocates for the Jewish people.
  • Initiatives that reach those with societal influence and have measurable impact.
  • Initiatives that harness the collective energies of multiple organizations and their expertise.
  • Initiatives that confront and diminish antisemitism and create a healthier and safer environment for Jews and all Canadians.

Who can apply?

These grants are available to Maspik! coalition members. In the future, Maspik! hopes to expand the list of potential recipients.

Where does the grant money come from?

Funds for the grants come from the 2019 JNF Negev Dinner honouring Wendy Eisen and Carole Zucker. Maspik! organizers anticipate complementary sources of funding will emerge to expand the range of projects that can be supported.

When is the grant period?

Maspik! grant applications will be considered four times per year and applicants have the option / ability to reapply annually. 

Application deadlines in 2024 are: January 15/24; April 15/24; July 15/24; October 15/24

How much funding can I receive?

Maspik! reserves the right to disperse the funds to one or multiple recipients. However, if proposals do not meet the quality criteria set by Maspik!, the remaining funds will be reserved for the next funding cycle. Grants may be awarded for both short-term events and multi-year initiatives.  Reimbursement for the maximum approved amount will be dispersed after the project concludes and grantees complete an online report that includes a final budget, description of outcomes with explanations of impacts, and photos (if applicable).

  • Project Cost or Project Budget under $5,000:  Maspik!  Grant Program may provide up to 100% of the funding required for the project. The grantee must sign an agency agreement that articulates the responsibilities of the recipient, commit to submitting an activity/outcomes report within 60 days of completion that incudes a final project budget (receipts and/or invoices to be provided). For initiatives that are ongoing (i.e., multi- or one-year vs. a short-term event), an interim report must be submitted mid-way that reports expenses and outcomes to date.
     
  • Project Cost or Project Budget over $5,000 : Maspik! Grant Program may provide up to 50% of the funding required for the project. The grantee is responsible for contributing the remaining balance. The grantee must sign an agency agreement that articulates the responsibilities of the recipient, commit to submitting an activity/outcomes report within 60 days of completion that incudes a final project budget (receipts and/or invoices to be provided). For initiatives that are ongoing (i.e., multi- or one-year vs. a short-term event), an interim report must be submitted mid-way that reports expenses and outcomes to date.

Maspik! Grant Application Process

Step 1:

Read the guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions and complete your application before the deadlines in 2024.

Step 2:

All applications will undergo an initial review by Maspik! This initial review is to ensure all eligibility criteria (see above) are met and applications are complete. 

Please note that these grants are NOT available for:

  • Projects or programs already in progress
  • Fundraising appeals such as memberships
  • Ongoing operations of an organization

Step 3:

The Maspik! Oversight Committee will meet and review all grant applications in detail to arrive at a short-list of initiatives. All grantees must sign an agency agreement which includes a proposed (and approved) budget.  Funds may only be used for the approved project.

Step 4:

The grantee initiates and completes the project.

Step 5:

The grantee completes the online report including actual budget, description of outcomes / impact, marketing materials, and photos. For multi-year projects, an interim report must be provided mid-way through the process.

Step 6:

Maspik! reimburses for actual expenses up to the maximum approved.

Successful grant recipients must acknowledge the support of Maspik! and the Wendy Eisen and Carole Zucker JNF Fund with provided marketing collateral.
